2-Bedroom Apartment for Rent in Downtown Newport, RI

First floor apartment in a 2-family house in the heart of the Yachting Village, a beautiful historic Newport neighborhood filled with shops, cafes, and restaurants. One block from the harbor!
  • $220/night + 7% RI sales tax
  • 2 bedrooms (1 with a full bed, 1 with a queen bed)
  • 1 bath
  • open living room/kitchen layout (700+ sf total)
  • includes high-speed wireless internet!
  • beautiful, well-planted patio (shared w/ upstairs apt, but they have their own private deck as well)
  • 1 city street parking pass included (no on-site parking)
  • located on Extension Street (between Thames and Spring St.)
  • air conditioning in both bedrooms
We're just a stone's throw from the harbor, shops and restaurants of Thames Street. Literally. You can pick up a rock and hurl it at the restaurant on the corner if you want. But they'll come and find you.

It's also a nice, easy (relatively flat) 1.5 mile bike ride to Gooseberry Beach from here (a favorite of the locals -- check the tide tables and make sure you go at high tide!). You can rent bikes or scooters just a block away.

And boy, do we love our patio -- by late April, we're already eating outside & using the hammock, and the iris, echinacea, asters, daylilies and ferns are all popping up! Chris & Joe in the upstairs apartment also share this patio, but they have their own deck as well (if you see my brother, Chris, grilling up some salmon, offer him a 'Gansett, and you'll have a friend for life).

PARTYING!

Have fun! That's what Newport is for! BUT...this isn't a crazy late-night party apartment. Chris and Joe, and all of our terrific neighbors on Extension Street, are really tons of fun, but they need their sleep too. So keep it down to a dull roar after 10:30 pm. Downtown Newport is like a little piece of Europe - your neighbors are close, and they can hear every word you say out on the patio, or when walking home from the bars. If you have a friend who gets louder with every beer he imbibes, move him inside (and maybe put him to bed) if it's getting late.

And remember: drink one glass of water between each cocktail!!!! You'll be SO happy you did when it's time to hit the beach.
